Wrapping up my Magnificent Tour of Malaysia

Bitter Sweet End

Bienvenidos todo mundo, greetings everyone. Allow me to begin by apologizing for not posting last week. It has been a bit hectic trying to maintain my Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and YouTube accounts. I’ve been posting regularly with each of them but fell a bit short on my personal blog last week. At any rate, my blog may not be concurrent with my YouTube postings for the time being, but I’ll get that sorted out in the next few weeks. Well, when I last left you, I was near the end of my Malaysian tour. So, I’ll just pick it up from that point. For my last stop in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, I decided to visit Central Market for a brief tour. I also decided to grab a bite to eat at LaZat Vegan Restaurant, which has unfortunately closed for the time being. Don’t despair, they are just regrouping to open up at another location. Well, at least that is what I’ve been told. I trust they will keep to their word.

Malaysia Has Been Wonderful, Overall

Before we get into the main theme of this blog, I would like to reiterate how much of a blast I’ve had throughout my trip to Malaysia. I was fortunate enough to have visited plenty of wonderful places, such as the Avani Goldcoast Resort in Selangor, the town of Sungai Petani, which is in the state of Kedah, the Banjaran Hotsprings Retreat in Ipoh, and of course, the Capital City, Kuala Lumpur. I was able to make some monumental memories at each of these locations. Of course, it was pretty easy as all the locations had some wonderful sites to experience. By the way, I have videos at each of these locations. So, if you wish to view them, I have linked a few of them down below. Or you can, alternatively, visit my YouTube channel to view the list of videos I have made thus far. At any rate, let us move right along to the main course of this meal, lol.

A Bit of History, First

The Central Market of Kuala Lumpur is definitely a tourist spot. It is a place where one can go to acquire last minute souvenirs to bring back for family and friends. The history behind Central Market is that it initially started out as a wet market, which is kind of a fish market for vendors. Today, it is a central point for Malaysian culture, arts, and craft products. The market has all sorts of vendors available selling from shops, stall, and even kiosks. Within these outlets, one can find snacks, cakes, and other forms of sweets or desserts. The beauty of the Central Market is that one can find cultural items from all three predominant cultures of Malaysia, which are Malay, Chinese, and Indian. You can also find famous food brand outlets on the ground floor, such as Secret Recipe and Old Time White Coffee, just to name a few. However, be extremely cautious about the foods you order in these places, as they are not known to be vegan-friendly.

Veganizing Food Options

For other great tasting local dishes, which can be easily veganized, visit the food court on the mezzanine floor. Whatever you’re in the mood for, the Central Market is a must visit tourist attraction for all. The market is a great location for anyone touring Kuala Lumpur. So, be sure to visit it the next time you’re in town. Additionally, be sure to inquire about the best time to visit the Central Market as they have recently started having live cultural performances on Saturday evenings. They also host cultural and heritage tours once in the morning and once in the afternoon for a small fee. The tour usually lasts anywhere between 1.5 – 2 hours. Although I haven’t personally experienced the tour myself, I’ve heard it is quite interesting. Well, enough with the Central Market, let’s move on to the food theme of this blog. Don’t get me wrong, Central Market was great, I’m just hungry, lol.

Hands Down, the Best Tasting Vegan Malay Food in Town

Next, we move on to the best tasting vegan Malay restaurant I have ever visited. I had me so many items on the menu, I couldn’t really tell you exactly what they were other than they all tasted absolutely fantastic. To begin with, I had me the rendang, sambal goreng, and lemak lodeh with white rice. Each one of these recipes was off the chart good. The next entrée on the agenda was the ikan tiga rasa, asam pedas, and of course, white rice. That’s not it. We also had the vegan chicken satay and kabab, which were also extremely delicious. The detail that made the vegan chicken satay out of this world was the peanut sauce. If you have ever had great tasting satay, the one article that puts it over the top is the condiment peanut sauce. To be truthful, the peanut sauce was so good, it shouldn’t even be considered a condiment. It is a recipe onto itself, which brings anything it is placed on to the next level.

Well, don’t forget to follow me on YouTube, Facebook, Instagram, & Twitter.
