World Vegan Day 2018, Malaysia

Traveling to Bring You Insight of Vegan Eateries

Greetings Everyone! While I wrote a blog last month while I was in the United States, I had a lot of catching up to do upon my return to Saudi Arabia. The positive side to that is since I last blogged, I was able to edit and upload four new videos on YouTube detailing more about my trip to Southeast Asia. Malaysia to be exact. On a side note, while I continue to work on the footage that was captured on my Malaysian Tour, I was able to visit and review some really fantastic vegan restaurants and some non-vegan restaurants, which offered a few vegan-friendly options. At any rate, stay tuned for my blogs and vlogs of my trip to the United States in the upcoming weeks. For those who are joining us for the first time, feel free to go through the rest of my blog posts to get a better idea about my background and aim for the website. For those of you who are returning, let’s get started with some fun descriptions of the event.

Journeying to Attend the World Vegan Day 2018

When I last left you all, I was making my way from the town of Sungai Petani (SP) to the capital city of Malaysia, Kuala Lumpur. My primary goal was to partake in World Vegan Day 2018, Malaysia during the weekend of 10-11 November. This was only the second year this event was ever taking place, and of course, I wanted to be a part of the experience. For those who are used to attending big food festivals, this event was not as big as most; however, this particular event was a blast for me. I met people from all over. Right off the back, I must talk about the founders of Kelava Ice Cream, Azlan and Aina. They were extremely friendly and had high energy. Not to mention, they had some delicious ice cream.  I must say they were one of my favorite vegan establishments in which I had the pleasure of meeting during the event. This is a picture of them below holding my shirts, which I gave to them as a gift. By the way, they also gave me one of their cool shirts, as well.

Too Many Great People and Establishments

Now, before I go any further, allow me to make something clear for everyone. I met and loved many of the vegan establishments and influencers during the event. Nevertheless, there is no possible way that I could mention all of them during one blog posting. So, while I will notate some honorable mentions at the end of the blog, I want everyone to know that every single establishment and influencers I met in this event has a special place in my opinion. I just feel like I don’t nor should I go into too much detail for each entity I met. If I did so, I would wind up writing a book on one single event, and I am sure most people don’t want to have that much detail. Moving right along, for a brief tour on this and other activities, which include the World Vegan Day 2018, I suggest that you watch my YouTube channel or simply click on the link below for quick access to this particular video.

Mexican Inspired Vegan Food

As mentioned above, there are just so many outstanding entities, that it is difficult to pinpoint single individuals. Notwithstanding, my next establishment is Sala Vegan Plant-based Restaurant. The owner of this beautiful restaurant is Fauzi, and the central theme of the eatery is Mexican inspired food. Now, while I didn’t try everything on the menu, I can honestly say that everything I did try was absolutely magnificent. While I was at the event, I tried three of their tacos. These three tacos were the jackfruit taco, the kimchi taco, and the mushroom taco. I loved the tacos so much that I used one of the pics of me eating their taco for the thumbnail of the YouTube video. Take a look at the pic below. Once again, for an overview of Sala’s food at the event, refer to the video, which I already linked above. Of course, I took the opportunity of presenting Fauzi with one of my shirts. He is a super nice guy who makes some excellent food.

Veganized Authentic Malaysian Cuisine

Our next establishment and person on the list is undoubtedly by no measure the least on the totem pole. As a matter of fact, he is the first entity, at least to my knowledge, to offer a completely authentic and traditional veganized Malaysian cuisine. The face of the restaurant is Hilmi, and the name of the restaurant is La Zat. The food that was presented was unbelievably fantastic. Take a look at the pic below for a better idea of what I am trying to convey to you. Yes, I know. The food looks great, but it tasted even better. Now, Hilmi is also an athlete weightlifter, which as you can see from the pic below, takes health tremendously seriously. Furthermore, he is an amazing person and always willing to educate the masses on what it takes and means to be a vegan. Well, I guess this is enough for today. I hope you’ve enjoyed my take on the World Vegan Day 2018 event. I’ll be back with more blog and vlogs soon. So, stay tuned. Thanks for the continued support.
